Nov 19, 2018 I need to download the driver for bamboo ctl-460 for windows 8 and I can't find one. The manufacturer of a product is responsible for all product support for said product no matter what operating system you choose to run. The Bamboo Pen & Touch from Wacom is a USB digital tablet that combines advanced Multi-Touch input with that of a traditional digital pen. It fully supports Multi-Touch gestures, including gestures and finger taps, over a large portion of its active area. The tablet is built well, drivers are easy to install and comprehendable. Only downside for me was the driver didn't support switching between monitors. This only leaves the option to use both monitors at the same time (which is pants) or one monitor at a time with quite some menu digging to switch. This turned out to be a pain, because I keep the picture on one monitor, and my palettes on the other. On the web, I found out that this feature is exclusive to the far more expensive Intuos tablets, hence, only 4 stars from me. Rated 5 out of 5 by Serge from Ideal small tablet This dual tablet works wonders for those wishing to do more detailed and precise work than available with a mouse and also like navigating with a trackpad (Particularly macbook users). The dual functionality improves productivity since you don't have to jump back to a mouse when doing generic computer navigation. There's no switch or button to press either, it's all natural. Although usually the keyboard is right beside it, having all buttons customizable is also helpful.
Most users will find the bundled software redundant or useless, since by the time most buy the hardware they will already have the software. I purchased the Bamboo when I bought the latest IMac, I kept having some weird things happening such as jumping for one application to the other, or skipping a couple of lines while writing or opening a context menu without doing anything on my side that should have prompted it. At first I thought the keyboard was at fault but after updating the bamboo software the bugs were fixed and is now working perfectly. Fast and accurate! This is a great product for drawing, painting, marking up documents, etc. I installed all required software and the tablet worked well with all its own software (I run Win7, 64-bit). Initially I was however unable to make it work with Photoshop and Word, while it worked well with Corel Painter. A bit of research showed that - for whatever reason - the functionality needed to be activated in Windows. Not sure why it isn't on by default. Go to Control Panel - All Control Panel Items - Programs and Features - Turn Windows features on or off, then tick the box for Tablet PC Components.

Now everything works great, and the pressure sensitivity is great for photo retouching and restoration! Right now I'm using it for simpler things such as marking up movie shooting locations on screen grabs of Google maps. But I'm getting there and expect to use it a lot in both PhotoShop Elements and in PaintShop Photo Pro Ultimate. I think it will also be an improvement over a mouse in music editing with various tools such as Guitar Tracks Pro, which I use quite a bit. Just need some more time, and really need to just bite the bullet and unplug the mouse permanently.

This graphics tablet however, feels like pen on paper and will give you very accurate results. One of the good things is that you can rest you palm on the surface of the graphics tablet because you can disable touch so that it doesn't interfere with what your doing.
I use this product for drawing and for touching up photos. It is a good product overall and I recommend it to anyone who is interested in drawing and photo editing. I recently moved up to Windows 7 and decided to replace graphire with the Bamboo Pen and Touch. It is a definite improvement. I like the styling.

I like the extra buttoons - Express Keys - that are programmable for different functions. The pen works very well - similar to the old graphire. It is a great tool for working and retouching in Photoshop. The Touch part works well for zooming and panning in Photoshop, but is not something I use to navigate the computer in general like on a PCTablet or Ipad - not quite the same, but maybe with a little getting used to. I just hope it lasts as long as my Graphire did (8 years and still going).
